Stem Cells Virtual Run Campaign on Thailand World Marrow Donor Day 2019.

World Marrow Donor Day was set up by World Marrow Donor Association (WMDA) to let all the countries arranges a campaign to thank stem cell volunteer donors around the world. At present, there are over 35 million volunteers registered as a stem cell volunteer donor. Since 2002, National Blood Centre, Thai Red Cross Society is assigned by The Medical Council of Thailand to provide matched unrelated stem cell volunteer donors for the patients by establishing Thai National Stem Cell Donor Registry (TSCDR). Over 17 years, there were 244,540 volunteers registered as a stem cell volunteer donor. Altogether, there were 1,994 Thai patients requested for searching matched unrelated stem cell donor and 335 donors donated stem cell to the patients.
In this year, National blood Centre launch the Stem Cells Virtual Run Campaign for provide a foundation to transplant the patients from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
The top 10 runners, who most running distance will receive a trophy and certificate at the opening ceremony of the World Marrow Donor Day 2019 on Saturday September 28, 2019 at the National Blood Centre, Thai Red Cross. Moreover, the National Blood Centre set up the activities for celebrate the WMDD together, public seminar, exhibition, Blood donation and stem cell donor registration, Mini concert, Game were used to introduce stem cell donation knowledge to general people.
