6 Singaporeans are diagnosed with a blood disease each day – shattering their lives as they grapple with the enormity of their diagnosis and for many, no hope of survival.A Bone Marrow Transplant is often the last resort – but the challenge is to raise awareness that being a donor is a simple procedure with no pain or long term implications.Started in 2015, for 2 years, BMDP supported World Marrow Donor Day – a global campaign to raise awareness for bone marrow donor with “When The World Stops” campaign at Orchard Road with 50 Human Statues frozen in time. When the World Stops is a graphic representation of the life of a patient, who is “frozen” in time while waiting for a last chance to survive. This year, we are bringing the movement to your workplace! We will be on the premise of Marina Bay Financial Centre Mall Link to create awareness about being a donor, the process of bone marrow donation when you are found as a match to a patient in need and to recruit for more donors! You can save a life by only doing a 2-minute cheek swab! Look for us on 27-29 Sept!
