Alp Sen Foundation has been founded by the Sen Family after bidding farewell to their beloved son Alp Ali Sen, who has passed on into eternal life in 2014 after the tragic accident, to support and enforce the project “he” and his friends have been working on so devotedly under the guidance of their biology teacher. Foundation’s first project is to make a contribution towards spreading hope among 1800 people, including 800 children, who are in line for marrow transplant from Istanbul University Marrow Bank, by giving support to Alp Sen Kindness Project.

In 2013 under the scope of ‘Alp Sen Kindness Project’ which dear Alp and his friends have been working on , works towards providing test kits in order to perform tests on blood samples gathered from various donors for marrow transplants to children with leukemia and helping children receive suitable marrows have been accelerated. With the revenue generated from fund raiser and various firms, tissue analysis kits were brought from overseas, donated to Capa Marrow Bank and the process of analyzing over 1000 blood samples began through this project. The invoice of purchased equipment, official delivery reports and certificates of appreciation were disclosed with the foundation and donators. At the same time, a common ground search to work coordinately with the Health Ministry has begun.

There are many problems in different aspects of bone marrow transplant. We have been working on creating resources to certain extent, and working towards raising consciousness about increasing the number of volunteer donors right after we have the samples analyzed. We have been closely following new technologies and medical inventions which will determine donor-patient match in terms of marrow transplant and aim to include these technologies to Istanbul University’s structure.

Our Foundation does not require any financial support from our public; the necessary funds are raised by the business world.
